The Doctors - Amy K. Balettie, DPM
Dr. Amy K. Balettie graduated from the Dr. William Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago followed by a two year residency in podiatric-orthopedics and surgery at the Eastern Kansas VAMC System with the University of Kansas. Her first bachelor's degree was in Cellular Biology from the University of Kansas. Her second bachelor's degree was in Human Biology. She was awarded honors in research as a podiatry student, by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. She is a member of the Michigan Podiatric Medical Association, the American Podiatric Medical Association, the American Diabetes Association, the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and is an associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. She specializes in diabetic foot care, treating diabetic foot complications, and limb salvage surgery. She is well trained in elective foot and ankle surgery such as bunion and hammer toe repair to rebalance the foot. She enjoys practicing sports medicine helping patients recover from tendonitis, sprains, and fractures.
Dr. Balettie is on staff at Mercy Memorial Hospital and she lives in Monroe. She is an active member of the Monroe Kiwanis Club and serves on the YMCA Board of Directors. She is a member of St. John's Parish. She is an artist in several mediums and brings this talent to her practice. For recreation, she enjoys running, snow skiing, gardening and scuba diving. Her commitment is to provide holistic care (through education, orthopedic support, medication, therapy or surgery) for her patients to enable them to achieve control of their foot and ankle pain, to stay active, and improve their quality of life.
